Accounts¶
Getting an account¶
There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created by the CoSWAT team. To contribute, ask the team for an account with the Contributor role.
Signing in¶
Select the avatar icon at the right end of the navigation bar and sign in with your username. An email address is optional.
To protect accounts, five failed attempts lock that username for 15 minutes, and twenty failed attempts from one network address lock that address.
Planned
Password reset by email is built and will work once the website can send mail. Until then, ask the team to reset a password.
Account menu¶
Once you are signed in, the avatar icon in the navigation bar stands for your account. Selecting it opens a menu with your name and the pages your account can use:
| Entry | Shown to |
|---|---|
| My contributions | Contributors |
| Request a region | Contributors |
| Sign out | Everyone signed in |
Signed-in features¶
Any signed-in account can:
- see observed river flow at gauging stations, while the licence for the observations is being settled;
- prepare slices on the Calibration page and download them.
Scripts can do the same with a personal token issued by the team.
The Contributor role adds the Contribute pages: submitting calibrations, observations and weather data, following your submissions, and requesting new regions. See Calibration and contributions.
Team roles¶
The CoSWAT team runs the platform from a dashboard. The roles planned for it are Viewer, Operator, Reviewer and Admin. Operator and Reviewer each include Viewer, and Admin includes all of them. For now the dashboard is open only to the platform's administrators.
